Noor Al Houda Islamic College
Noor Al Houda Islamic College has supported Mahboba’s Promise since 2003 as part of its regular charity drive. Each Friday after the Jumaat prayer, members of the Student Representative Council collect donations from students. Collections are also made after the midday prayer on a daily basis. The SRC has also held mufti days and cake days to raise funds.
Noor Al Houda is a small school of 376 students K-12, but is keenly aware of the importance of education for students who are less important. Funds raised by the SRC have been used to help set up or re-establish schools destroyed in Afghanistan, through rental payments, donations of books, stationery and basic clothing.
The SRC hopes to increase its donations so that it can pay the rental of at least one school site.
