Cheltenham Girls High School
Cheltenham Girls High School has a tradition of creating ‘Cheltknits’ – woollen scarves and rugs lovingly knitted by students, staff and parents – and donating them to a worthy charity; an exercise which fosters awareness of the students as global citizens and as catalysts for positive social change.
This year the girls on the school’s Social Justice Team decided to support the School’s Promise program, providing the children at the newly built Hope House orphanage with beautiful warm woollies to guard against the winter.
At a school assembly in September this year, the members of the Social Justice Team modeled the Cheltknits and presented them to School’s Promise, before the scarves and rugs were delivered to their new home in Afghanistan.
