Asquith Girls High School
Asquith Girls High School in Sydney has a sister school relationship with Panshir Valley Girls school and has been supporting the school since 2003. The fundraising has been driven by student leaders, especially members of the school’s Social Justice team. Asquith has raised several thousand dollars through International Womens Day breakfasts, school mufti days and a staff City to Surf team. This money has been sent to Afghanistan to buy a generator, clothing and shoes, stationery, a camera, general equipment and a contribution towards the future employment of a female teacher. Every student at Asquith has signed a banner that was sent to Panshir Valley and the school received banners and letters in return. Students have also made friendship bands for every student and cards with photos and messages.
