THANK YOU!
Many, many individual donors and volunteers have made contributions to Mahboba's Promise over the years. Without their help, Mahboba's dreams would have remained just that. Mahboba and the Management Committee would like to thank you all for your wonderful generosity and compassion.
A special thanks must always be made to Dr Nasreen from Peshawar, Pakistan, whose cry for help, touched Mahboba so deeply and to Mahboba's Uncle Haji Fazal Ahmad Sabit and his wife, who have left a life of comfort in Brisbane and dedicated their lives to helping Mahboba's Promise.
Would like to acknowledge the following not-for-profit organisations, professionals and companies for their contributions:
Allens Arthur Robinson for pro bono legal work.
Bio-Distributors, Biodynamic & Organic Wholesalers of Tasmania for their sponsorship of this website and Prodigi Pty Ltd for the contribution of their time in building it.
Muslim Aid Australia, for their support on joint-projects in Afghanistan.
Permaculture Across Borders, a not-for-profit organisation based in California for their help accessing an IMF grant in 2007 to celebrate Global Youth Service Day.
Tents4Peace, a Tasmanian based not-for-profit organisation, for their generous donation which made the building of Peace House possible.
Tomaszewski & Associates and Architects Without Frontiers - for the design of Hope House and advice during construction.
In memoriam
A special mention is made of the contribution of Mohamad Hussain Wafa, a medical student who instigated the projects in Jaghoori. Mohamad sadly lost his life in a car accident in Iran in 2005. His family continue to support the work in his memory.
