Tens of thousands of Orphans
Three decades of brutal war and civil unrest in Afghanistan have left tens of thousands of orphans behind. In Afghanistan any child without a father is considered an orphan, because without a breadwinner and protector, the child is so disadvantaged as to be alone. Many of these children are survivors of bombings and shelling of their homes and many others have been maimed by landmines, which still litter the country. Their schooling has been disrupted and they are often far from their original homes. Without help, they live on the streets and are subject to hunger, abuse and extremely poor health.
Each child is special and each has a harrowing tale
Mahboba's Promise gives you the opportunity to help heal these young lives by donating just $35 a month. The money goes towards individual and community development. We ensure the children are able to go to school and we make up for the lost years by providing supplementary education. It’s not all work, we encourage individual and team recreation activities to build cooperation and help them to laugh and play freely. We also support the schools they attend by improving facilities and make sure their communities have the basics needed for a healthy life.

For Afghanistan to have a prosperous and peaceful future its children need to be healthy, strong and well-educated and supported by a community. By sponsoring an orphan you are investing in the future of Afghanistan.
